Bonafan Terms of Service

Effective date: July 31, 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using Bonafan (the "Service") and the rights and obligations between the operator of the Service (the "Operator") and its users. By installing or using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Definitions)

In these Terms, the following words have the meanings below.

Article 2 (Scope)

These Terms apply to every relationship arising from use of the Service.

Raffles and product sales are contracts between the Merchant and the Entrant; the Operator is not a party to them. Delivering products, handling returns and providing customer support to Entrants are the responsibility of the Merchant.

Article 3 (Starting to use the Service)

A Merchant starts using the Service by approving the required permissions through Shopify OAuth authorization.

The Operator accesses the Merchant’s store data only within the scope of the approved permissions.

Article 4 (What the Service provides)

The Service mainly provides the features below. Features may change without notice as the Service improves.

Article 5 (Notes on fraud detection)

Fraud detection and scoring in the Service are assistive features based on statistical indicators. They do not guarantee that every reseller entry is detected, or that no legitimate entry is ever excluded by mistake.

The final operational decision to blocklist or exclude an entry rests with the Merchant.

Article 6 (Fees)

The Service is currently free of charge.

If paid plans are introduced in the future, the Operator will give prior notice and will not start charging without the Merchant’s consent.

Article 7 (Data handling)

The Operator collects and stores store order data, Entrant email addresses and similar information only to the extent necessary to provide the Service, and does not use them for any other purpose.

When the Service is uninstalled, the Operator revokes its access to the store (the access token). To request deletion of stored data, contact the address in Article 14.

Article 8 (Merchant responsibilities)

When running raffle sales with the Service, the Merchant is responsible for the following.

Article 9 (Prohibited conduct)

Users must not do any of the following when using the Service.

Article 10 (Suspension and termination of the Service)

The Operator may suspend all or part of the Service without prior notice for system maintenance, failures of external services (Shopify, Cloudflare, Supabase, the email delivery platform, etc.) or other unavoidable reasons.

The Operator may terminate the Service after announcing it with a reasonable notice period.

Article 11 (Disclaimer)

The Service is provided "as is". The Operator does not warrant its completeness, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose, nor does it guarantee draw outcomes, sales results or the complete prevention of reselling.

The Operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the Service except in cases of the Operator’s willful misconduct or gross negligence. Where the Operator is liable, its liability is capped at the total fees the Merchant paid for the Service in the 12 months before the damage occurred.

Article 12 (Intellectual property)

Intellectual property rights in the Service belong to the Operator or its rightful licensors. These Terms do not grant any rights beyond what is necessary to use the Service.

Rights in the Merchant’s store data and in information obtained from Entrants belong to the Merchant or the Entrants.

Article 13 (Changes to these Terms)

The Operator may amend these Terms when it deems necessary. Material changes will be announced in advance on the Service or by other appropriate means. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

Article 15 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Operator’s place of business as the court of first instance.
